Come, Spirit, source of light,
Thy grace is unconfined ;
Dispel the gloomy shades of night,
The darkness of the mind.

2 Now to our eyes display
The truth Thy words reveal :
Cause us to run the heavenly way,
Delighting in Thy will.

3 Thy teachings make us know
The mysteries of Thy love ;
The vanity of things below,
The joy of things above.

4 While through this maze we stray,
Oh, spread Thy beams abroad ;
Disclose the dangers of the way,
And guide our steps to God.
